       The XXV International Festival of Organ Music "Zvany Safii" will be held from October 18 to November 8 in Polotsk, BelTA learned from the Museum of the History of Architecture of St. Sophia Cathedral. The organizers have prepared a program of five concerts performed by Belarusian and Russian musicians. The hall of St. Sophia Cathedral will host the overture for the festival on October 18 in the shape of a concert by organist Alexei Shmitov (Russia). He will perform his own works, as well as pieces by Krebs, Bach and Vidor. The opening concert of the festival will be held on October 25 and will be dedicated to the 335th anniversary of the birth of the famous composer Georg Friedrich Handel. On this day, organist of St. Sophia Cathedral Ksenia Pogorelaya, Victoria Babenko (violin), Tamara Remez (soprano) and the Europa Center chamber orchestra conducted by Rail Sadykov will perform. The musical evening on November 1 will be dedicated to the memory of the Belarusian composer and teacher Anna Korotkina. The concert will feature some of her works performed on organ and violin. Chamber music of the Baroque era will be presented to listeners on November 5 by the chamber choir of the Gomel Regional Philharmonic, Ksenia Pogorelaya and the Europa Center orchestra. The forum will culminate in a concert of organ music on November 8 with the participation of Ekaterina Ivanova, Ksenia Pogorelaya, and also Gleb Yakushev.
