Economy Ministry, EU, UNDP to evaluate regulatory impact of bill on people with disabilities

The European Union and the UNDP in partnership with the Belarusian Economy Ministry have started a pilot procedure to evaluate the regulatory impact of the bill on rights of people with disabilities and their social integration. The work has been arranged as part of the project meant to support economic development in the Republic of Belarus at the local level, the UNDP press service said. The evaluation will allow measuring how much the bill impacts business operation conditions, investment appeal and competition. It will make a contribution to the popularization of such evaluations in Belarus and will help work out proposals for the effective resolution of problems concerning the employment and social integration of people with disabilities taking into account interests of businesses of all kinds. “The regulatory environment should enable the employment of people with disabilities and should guarantee their rights and interests in the sphere of labor,” experts say. The project “Support to economic development at the local level in the Republic of Belarus” is financed by the European Union and is being implemented by the United Nations Development Program in partnership with the Belarusian Economy Ministry.
