The Days of Belarusian Culture opened in Finland for the first time on 18 June.
The event was organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Finland and Lithuania. Taking part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Belarusian Culture was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Lithuania and Finland on concurrent Vladimir Drazhin. The program of the opening ceremony featured an exhibition of new books of the Belarusian Encyclopedia publishing house, a presentation of the Nesvizh museum-reserve, an exhibition of collections of the Yanka Kupala Museum, and performance of the Kupalinka folk music group. The program of the event included a performance TriTformaT by the Belarusian Theater-Studio of Movie Actors. Taking part in the opening ceremony were representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Finland, the local business community and government officials, Belarusians living in Finland, diplomats and cultural figures. The representatives of the Nesvizh museum-reserve held talks with the administration of Suomenlinna Museum and a number of other leading Finnish museums to discuss ways to establish cultural and tourist ties.
