Russia believes EU’s demands with regard to Belarus to be excessive. This was stated by Ambassador of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov.
The Ambassador noted that at present the Belarusian and European side start to develop an understanding that demands and conditions should be substituted by consultations and suggestions.
Alexander Surikov said that the Russian side was not alarmed by attempts to improve relations between Belarus and the EU. "Belarus is a European country, it is located in the heart of Europe and can not be satisfied with the kind of relations with its neighbors that we see now," - he said.
