Belarus Cup renamed into Salei Cup

         Belarus Cup will be renamed into Ruslan Salei Cup starting from the 2013/14 season. The decision was taken at the meeting of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus.
It has been earlier reported that the final of the tournament should take place at Chizhovka Arena that is due to open in September. According to sports director of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus Vladimir Shvabovsky, the design of the cup will be ready by late August.Ruslan Salei was a Belarusian professional ice hockey player. He played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL).Salei died on September 7, 2011, when a passenger aircraft, carrying the entire Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team of the Kontinental Hockey League crashed near Yaroslavl on its way to Minsk, Belarus, to start the 2011–12 KHL season.
