Advantages granted by the Single Economic Space should be more actively used to bolster manufacturing cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Penza region. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with region’s Governor Vasily Bochkarev. The Belarusian head of state said: “I am convinced that in modern conditions partnering relations cannot rely solely on some trade operations and barter transactions. It is necessary to follow the way of joint ventures and we are doing it together with many Russian regions. It is particularly relevant in view of the favorable conditions, which are being created in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. Manufacturing cooperation comes to the forefront of interaction in this regard”.
In his words, manufacturing cooperation projects have many advantages. They secure an increase in mutual trade, create jobs, encourage the production of competitive machines, and raise budget revenues from taxes.
