Kazakhstan eager to join Belarusian-Russian electronic trading system as from 2014

Kazakhstan intends to join the Belarusian-Russian electronic system of government purchases as from 1 January 2014. The information was released by Mr Nurlan Aldarbergenov, Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at the international forum Digital Trade: Eurasian Integration Challenges in the city of Ufa. Nurlan Aldarbergenov remarked that the Eurasian Economic Commission had helped address the matter of transboundary usage of digital signatures for Belarus and Russia. The mechanism for the mutual recognition of digital signature formats has enabled the national regime for potential suppliers of Belarus and Russia. The mechanism that has been worked out has promptly enabled the mutual participation of potential suppliers of the two countries in government purchases via digital trading platforms of Belarus and Russia. According to the Minister, similar work will be done in Kazakhstan this year in order to enable the mutual participation of potential suppliers via the digital trading platforms of the three countries as from 1 January 2014. Nurlan Aldarbergenov emphasized that cooperation between the member states of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space had advanced to a higher stage. The authority to resolve many issues has been transferred to the supranational level and is successfully exercised by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
