Belavia starts operating regular flights to Barcelona

The national air carrier Belavia has started operating regular flights Minsk-Barcelona-Minsk.
Catalonia’s capital became the 41st destination of the Belarusian airline. The flights will be available two times a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will take 3 hours and 45 minutes. “The opening of the new destination has been a long-awaited event. For many years the Minsk-Barcelona flights were available only in summer and only in the form of charter flights. Catalonia’s capital has become our new destination for a reason. Barcelona is a major tourist, cultural and transport center. The interest in this destination will remain stable all over the year,” Director General of Belavia Anatoly Gusarov said at a solemn ceremony that was held at the International Airport Minsk on 26 December.
The flight is meant for tourists travelling from Belarus to Spain and passengers choosing Minsk as a transit destination between Spain and the former Soviet Union republics. In winter the flight will also be popular with mountain skiers going to Andorra, the company believes.
