Joint ventures named priority in Vitebsk Oblast’s cooperation with Slovakia

     Setting up new enterprises should become a priority in cooperation between Vitebsk Oblast and Slovakia. The statement was made by Vitebsk Oblast Governor Nikolai Sherstnev during the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Belarus Jozef Migas.

The Vitebsk Oblast Governor emphasized that the two sides should step up cooperation by channeling efforts primarily into the establishment of high-tech enterprises. He spoke in favor of the diplomat’s initiatives concerning cooperation in the sphere of pharmaceutics, woodworking (waste processing and the production of premium merchandise using valuable wood varieties), power engineering (Vitebsk Oblast is interested in raising investments for building the Beshenkovichi hydropower plant), and other areas.

Apart from that, Nikolai Sherstnev suggested a number of other avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation to Jozef Migas.
