Ravkov: All wars of the past 15 years can be called hybrid wars

      All wars of the past 15 years can be called hybrid wars, Belarus’ Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel.
“Today, we must understand that a hybrid war or a hybrid approach to military actions is the essence of the wars and conflicts that we see happening now. All the wars of the past 10-15 years were in effect hybrid wars,” the Minister said.
The Defense Minister noted that the basics of a hybrid war were laid down back in the 1990s. Such types of wars make use of the forces and resources which can be called classical such as a regular army and also terrorist methods, sabotage, guerrilla warfare, precision weapons. “This mix is called a hybrid war,” he said. Andrei Ravkov noted that it was precisely because of the hybrid wars that Belarus created special ops forces and enhanced the territorial defense system.
