Higher mobility is prioritized as part of the campaign to re-equip the Belarusian army. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the government conference on territorial defense on 17 February, BelTA reports.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that exercises and tests of the Belarusian army are arranged without any fanfares. “We are making our armed forces more mobile in order to be able to relocate a sufficient number of mobile and trained people to any part of Belarus,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.
The President was recently informed about the fulfillment of his instructions to create mobile vehicles. According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus could stop using armored personnel carriers in the near future thanks to the creation of the vehicle able to carry as many people. Two sample vehicles have already been made by Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT, Volat trademark). According to the President, these vehicles should come in handy in the army and security agencies.
