President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Marino Murillo.

On the 18th of October President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Marino Murillo.
At the meeting the President said that Belarus is ready to develop all-round cooperation with Cuba. Much attention should be paid to economic cooperation:

“Cuba is a rich country in terms of healthcare, medicine and pharmaceuticals’ development. It is a very important issue for us. Today we work out and implement a state program in this sphere and this is why your experience is vital for us.
While discussing some issues with Raul Castro we pointed out a serious problem for Cuba, which is the development of agriculture. We agreed that in order to modernize the agriculture, Cuba possesses huge resources. These resources are estimated at no less than 1.5 billion dollars that Cuba spends on import of food products and of everything related to the development of agriculture from abroad. I think that the reduction of this sum by one or two hundred million dollars a year due to import substitution and production of agricultural products in Cuba will be a good source of financing. Saving this money Cuba could buy agricultural machinery, create farms and so on”.
