Supreme Economic Court of Belarus to sign cooperation agreement with Brazil

The Supreme Economic Court (SEC) of Belarus is going to sign a cooperation agreement with Brazilian counterparts, SEC Chairman Viktor Kamenkov told reporters. Talking about cooperation agreements that were earlier signed with other countries, Viktor Kamenkov said, “We are in talks with Brazil about a similar agreement”. He reminded that the Supreme Economic Court had concluded cooperation agreements with supreme economic courts of Venezuela, China, Vietnam and other countries. “We have signed many agreements with many courts around the world. First of all, those are the CIS member states and our neighbors. However, the geography is much wider. We have plans to sign agreements with the Middle East and Far East”, Viktor Kamenkov said.
“I am convinced that these agreements are very efficient. Even if such mechanisms are not formalized on the governmental level yet, the agreements between the courts allow the economies to operate smoothly, which is important,” he emphasized. With such agreements in effect Belarusian economic operators feel secure while operating in other countries because they know that they can get legal protection there. The same pertains to foreign business operating in Belarus. Opening their companies in Belarus, foreign businessmen not only start operations in Belarus, but also bring their investments here, Viktor Kamenkov said.
