PM names major goal for Belarusian economy in period of black swan events

The economic mechanism in the country should promptly respond to any challenges, adapt and ensure sustainable economic growth, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.

When asked about what risks there are for the economy today, the prime minister said: “There are quite a lot of risks. These are sanctions pressure, problems in foreign trade. The most important thing is that we are now living in the period of black swan events. It is very difficult to predict what kind of 'black swan' we will see tomorrow.”

“Therefore, the main task is the sustainable functioning of the economic mechanism, which could promptly respond to any challenges, adapt and, most importantly, ensure sustainable economic growth,” the Belarusian head of government added.
