Agreement on mutual recognition of academic degrees takes effect in EAEU

The agreement on mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) came into force on 2 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The agreement was signed at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on 8 June 2023. “Now the national documents on academic degrees of citizens of the Eurasian Five countries are recognized automatically (without national recognition procedures) for employment in another state of the union, except for cases when the holders of such documents claim for the premiums or benefits for the academic degree established in the state of employment,” the EEC explained.

“The agreement is aimed at increasing the mobility of highly qualified specialists and will contribute to the development of freedom of movement of labor force,” Bakhyt Sultanov, member of the Collegium (Minister) for Economy and Financial Policy of the EEC, said.
