Tajikistan promised CSTO aid in reinforcing border with Afghanistan

         The Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has decided to render military technical aid to the border guard of Tajikistan for the sake of reinforcing the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, CSTO Press Secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told media following a regular session of the Council in the Russian city of Sochi. Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordiuzha presented a report on examining the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border. After hearing out the report the presidents decided it was advisable for Tajikistan to take additional measures in association with the CSTO member states to reinforce the border with Afghanistan. In particular, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pointed it was vital for the security of the CSTO member states to help Tajikistan reinforce the border. On the basis of Tajikistan’s request the CSTO member states will act within their capacity to render gratuitous military technical aid to the border guard forces of Tajikistan within three months.
