Belarus to hold up to 70 cooperation boosting events during presidency in CIS

        During its presidency in the CIS Belarus plans to conduct up to 70 events in various areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said in a recent interview to the press.
The Foreign Minister said that Belarus, presiding in all the CIS bodies, organizes significant events and on the whole gives tone to the CIS activity.According to the minister, Belarus' chairmanship follows the head of state’s line on the preservation and accumulation of the positive experience of the CIS integration cooperation. “The number one goal is to provide all possible assistance to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the CIS member states and improve living standards of our people. And we take this approach very seriously,” Vladimir Makei said.
         Belarus has been implementing its chairmanship concept called “Integration in the best interests of the people: strengthening good neighborly relations, development of economic cooperation, assistance to enhancing the access to environmental green technologies, expansion of the dialogue of cultures”. Belarus suggested a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening the CIS potential.
