The height of a vehicle has no bearing on how much the Belarusian digital road toll collection system BelToll charges its users. The statement was made by the BelToll press service in an answer to questions submitted by motorists.
The press service said that the company had received a number of questions about road tolls and would like to clarify that vehicles over 2.1m high with the total admissible weight of 3.5 tonnes and less are exempt from road toll.
The BelToll press service noted that passage via Belarus is still free for vehicles, which weigh 3.5 tonnes and less and are registered in a Customs Union member state (Belarus, Russia, or Kazakhstan).
BelToll is a digital road toll collection system built around a specialized short-range radio communication technology that allows collecting road toll without having to stop vehicles. At present the system covers 815km of Belarusian motorways. Work is in progress to expand the system onto parts of the motorways M4 Minsk-Mogilev and M5 Minsk-Gomel.
