Belmedpreparaty to develop 130 new medicines by 2020

Belmedpreparaty plans to develop 130 new medicines by 2020, director general of the pharmaceutical company Viktor Zelssky reported to Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich.
Modernization is a continuous process at the company. Five projects are currently underway as part of the state program of innovative development. One of them is on track to be complete this year: reconstruction of the manufacture of anti-tumor drugs in the form of freeze-dried powders and injectable solutions.
       Viktor Zalessky said:

The company is also carrying out the investment projects to start producing medicines in prefilled syringes and medicines in the form of transdermal patches. The project to produce medicines in the form of cartridges is under development.
The Minsk City Council is actively involved in the implementation of innovation projects. For example, the Minsk city authorities allocated Br24 billion for the project to manufacture medicines in pre-filled syringes.
Today Belarus spends millions of dollars on the purchase of medicines in prefilled syringes. Starting the local manufacture will allow the country to save foreign exchange resources.
Having heard the report of the Director General of Belmedpreparaty, the head of government reminded him of the task set out by the head of state, namely to increase the share of locally-produced medicines on the domestic market to 50% by 2015. Belmedpreparaty is one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Belarus.
