EAEU presidents to see package of amendments to EAEU Treaty in May

A package of amendments to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty will be presented before the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union at a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in May. Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich mentioned it in his speech during the 22nd April International Scientific Conference of HSE University, Russia on 15 April, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said the heads of state will see a package of amendments to the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty on 21 May. The package includes 137 amendments. Most of them focus on labor migration and the recognition of education certificates, the evaluation of the regulatory impact of draft international agreements within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, antidumping procedures, the procedure for collecting indirect taxes and ways to control their payment.

“I believe it is necessary to greatly harmonize the national legislations of the five countries between each other and harmonize the national legislations with laws and regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union. Legislation harmonization builds up trust of the countries. It sends a positive signal to the private sector and citizens about benefits, safety, and stability of cooperation. It helps form social loyalty towards integration in the Eurasian Economic Union,” the official stressed.
