BMZ agrees on metal product supplies to Russia in 2021

The international industrial exhibition Metal-Expo 2020 in Moscow was a success for the public joint-stock company BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company. The company received several industry awards and reached agreements with Russian consumers for the supply of metal products in H1 2021, Aleksandr Olesik, the company's press secretary, told BelTA. The parties held a number of meetings and negotiations as part of the exhibition. “They talked over the interest of Russian consumers in continuing cooperation with BMZ in 2021. The matter concerns sales of various types of rolled products, pipes and steelwire products,” said Aleksandr Olesik. According to the company, the Russian market traditionally plays an important role in the structure of BMZ sales. According to operational data, over 245,000 tonnes of metal products were sold to Russia in January-October 2020. This is about 15% of the plant's total exports. This year, the plant has shipped 11 types of metal products to Russia. The key items are rebar, pipes, bronze-plated wire and metal cord. “Shipments of fittings in physical terms increased by more than a quarter year-on-year,” said the press secretary.
