Belarus Stanyuta bags silver at 2013 Universiade

      Leader of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team Melitina Stanyuta won the women’s hoop gold at the Universiade 2013.
       The final of the hoop event was won by Russia’s Margarita Mamun, Melitina Stanyuta’s fierce rival. The Russian clinched gold with 18.300 points, while Melitina Stanyuta earned 17.866 to settle for silver. Two Ukrainians, Alina Maksimenko and Anna Rizatdinova scored the same number of points (17.833) and both took the bronze medals. 
       In the final of another event, Melitina Stanyuta only missed out on a medal in the ball event and came fourth with 17.516 points. Russia’s Alexandra Merkulova won gold, South Korea’s Yeon Jae Son silver and Ukraine’s Anna Rizatdinova bronze.
      In the clubs event Melitina Stanyuta failed to make it to the pedestal either and took the last, eighth place, in the final. Melitina Stanyuta did not partake in the ribbon event. Team Belarus did not participate in the group apparatus 3+2 final either.
