The Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom plans to open a company in China to promote exports of the Belarusian food industry, chairman of Belgospishcheprom Anatoly Buben told the media in Minsk on 22 September, BelTA has learned.

"We are thinking of opening a representative office in China. This will be a good breakthrough for our exports," said Anatoly Buben.

According to him, such a legal entity in China could be set up within the next few months. "We will open offices at the first stage, then warehouses, and then we will launch e-commerce," he explained.

Companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom export beetroot pulp, rapeseed oil, alcohol and confectionery to China. Thus, confectionery products go mainly to the north of China, Chinese consumers prefer products with little or no sugar such as the President chocolate bars. "Our confectioners are already working in this direction, fine-tuning labels and product tastes exactly for Chinese consumers," Anatoly Buben added.
