Belarusian food producers are interested in strengthening their positions on the Canadian market

Belarusian food producers are interested in strengthening their positions on the Canadian market, BelTA learned from Charge d'Affaires of Belarus in Canada Yevgeny Rusak. According to the source, a delegation of Belarusian food producers led by the head of the state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom visited Canada in February 2019. Members of the delegation established contacts with Canadian partners, who are interested in selling Belarusian products via their platforms. According to Yevgeny Rusak, the visit produced good results: Belarus’ food export to Canada rose by more than 3.5 times in January-May 2020 in comparison with the same period of last year. The diplomat continued: “In continuation of the visit together with the Belgospishcheprom concern we’ve decided to take the next step – arrange for Canadian distributors an online presentation of the Belarusian products, which export to Canada is not restricted by regulatory measures. It means an agreement of the sides is enough to start working.” During the videoconference specific ways to stimulate the export of Belarusian goods were discussed. Conditions for penetrating the Canadian market and strengthening positions on the market were outlined.
