A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Lyudmila Nizhevich will take part in the 38th session of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations that will be held in Rome.
The forthcoming session will discuss the Program of Work and Budget for 2014-2015, the Medium Term Plan for 2014-2017, global political and regulatory matters, amendments to the Rules and General Rules of the organization. The session is of great interest for our country because Belarus is working on a strategic cooperation program with the FAO. The Belarusian delegation will take part in the events of the conference, hold bilateral meetings with representatives of the FAO Secretariat and delegations of the participating states, including SES partners. The program of the visit envisages a meeting with Director-General of the organization Jose Graziano da Silva to discuss his forthcoming visit to Belarus and other topical matters of the bilateral agenda, including Belarus’ accession to a number of FAO technical aid projects.
