Grodno is hosting a delegation of the Lithuanian war veterans.
It is the second time the delegation of the Lithuanian veteran and public organizations has arrived in Grodno Oblast. The first such visit was organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Lithuania with the aim of developing relations between the veteran organizations of Belarus and Lithuania. Today we can say that such visits have become a good tradition.
This time the delegation includes 36 people. Among them are representatives of the National Committee of the Participants in WWII who fought against the Nazi invaders and currently reside in Lithuania. Other members are representatives of the charity fund of the Afghan war veterans, members of the Lithuanian military history association Forgotten Soldiers.
The war veterans met with Grodno region authorities. The guests will visit the Grodno sights, the sites of the famous battlefields, the Usov frontier post and the Augustow Canal. They are also set to partake in the flower-laying ceremony and meet with Grodno veterans to recollect the past battles and share experience concerning the operation of the veteran organizations in Belarus and Lithuania.
