Border services of Belarus and Ukraine approve cooperation plan for 2013-2014

The Belarusian customs service intends to switch to the automated release of export commodities in H2 2013. The information was released by Sergei Borisyuk, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus. Sergei Borisyuk explained that the scheme will not be applied to all commodities but only those, which are not subject to export duties. The Deputy Chairman noted the novelty will be implemented as part of one of the last year’s most important projects. The so-called Digital Customs will be continued this year, too. In his opinion, the automated export procedure will be available for roughly 80% of Belarus’ export in H2 2013.
Sergei Borisyuk said that this year the State Customs Committee will work to enable effective customs control with minimal time costs at the border while the foreign trade of the Eurasian economic space member states is rising. The Committee will also continue forming the legal base for the customs service of the Single Economic Space member states taking into account national interests of Belarus. There are also plans to drastically increase information exchange with economic operators, which are involved in foreign trade, via the unified computerized payment system, added Sergei Borisyuk.
