A set of issues to strengthen cooperation between Belarus and Russia in culture and art, tourism and youth exchange were discussed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Deputy Culture Minister of the Russian Federation Alla Manilova. Special attention was turned to bilateral events scheduled for 2013 in culture, art, tourism, youth exchange including the Days of Russian Culture in Belarus, themed campaigns envisaged by the 2013 Belarus’ CIS Concept.
Belarus-Russia cultural cooperation is steady and fruitful. Among others, the 2012 events included the Days of Belarusian Culture in Saint Petersburg; a tour of the Belarusian State Ensemble Pesnyary to Bryansk region of Russia; the Belarusian-Russian concert of young opera soloists at the Russian Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet Belarus regularly hosts the International Yuri Bashmet Festival; the International Music Festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites”, concerts of the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinski Theater, and others.
