An image of the city hall is now on the emblem of Mogilev, the cultural capital of Belarus and the CIS states for the year 2013, we learned from Ms Irina Zhabbarova, Deputy Head of the Culture Department of the Mogilev City Executive Committee.
Designed by Mogilev resident Ms Yekaterina Tabanyukhina, the image is a watercolor drawing in blue, azure, rosy and orange shades. In the near future it will be put on big boards and light posters as well as printed advertising products. The logo will also be placed on goods made by Mogilev enterprises.
“The title of the two-time cultural capital places more responsibility on the city and will definitely bring joy to Mogilev residents,” said Irina Zhabbarova. “The oblast capital will follow a way different from the one taken by predecessors – Polotsk, Gomel, and Nesvizh – where culture days of various countries were held for a year. We have decided to split our designs into nine areas”.
For instance, the project Our Motherland is a Treasure will tell about Belarus, the Life of Cities will tell about 14 twinned cities and 19 partners of Mogilev as well as other CIS states and Europe that the oblast capital cooperates with.
