German companies emphasize political stability in Belarus

While evaluating quality parameters of the business climate in Belarus in 2014, German companies placed political stability above all, BelTA quotes the annual poll carried out by the Representation of the German Economy in Belarus. Political stability scored 2.4 points and went from the 8th position in 2013 to the first position in 2014. The most attractive advantages of the country also include infrastructure (2.5), personnel qualifications (2.6), and the quality of academic education. German companies also rather highly spoke of the tax burden as a factor of the business climate. Tax burden went from the 12th position on the list of the most attractive factors in 2013 to the 5th position in 2014. As the least appealing factors of the business climate the respondents mentioned foreign trade instruments and access to credit resources. Belarus’ business climate has improved when compared internationally. “Belarus as an island of stability looks contrastingly positive against the overall regional background,” said the Representation of the German Economy in Belarus.
