The Grand Prix of the 16th International Animated Film Festival Aminaevka 2013 went to Poland’s The Lost Town of Switez. The best film of the festival directed by Kamil Polak received the winner’s certificate, a special prize Crystal Pencil and a valuable present. Evalds Lacis’ Hedgehogs and the City (Latvia) won in the Best Film for Children nomination; Shiva Sadeh Assadi’s Kitten (Iran) – in Best Director’s Solution; Elena Petkevich’s Snow-White and Rose Red (Belarus) in Prize for Master; Natalia Berezova’s The Hotan Carpet Tale (Russia) in the Audience Choice Award; and Mikhail Tumel’s Music Box 2 in the Best Experimental Film nomination. Some works received special prizes. For instance, Russian producer Yulia Aronova got a diploma for unexpected embodiment of children’s dreams in the film My Mum is an Airplane, Belarusian producer Irina Tarasova – for a talented debut.
A total of 71 animated films from 21 countries were presented at the festival.
