At the forthcoming autumn session the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus intends to discuss a draft law on ratifying the Belarusian-Chinese agreement on the status of military units of the Chinese army, which are temporarily in Belarus, and the status of Belarusian army units, which are temporarily in China, for the sake of holding joint exercises. The information was released by Vladimir Bazanov, Deputy Chairman of the National Security Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
We reported earlier that in 2012-2013 China donated over 20 light armored vehicles to special operations units of the Belarusian army. Ten military delegations at the top level have exchanged visits in the last three years. Training sessions for representatives of the Belarusian and Chinese armies are regularly arranged in military education institutions of both countries. Apart from that, joint antiterrorism exercises for Belarusian special operations units and airborne units of the Chinese army were held in Belarus in July 2011 and in China in November-December 2012.
