Belarusian gasoline invigorating for Russian fuel market

Shipments of Belarusian gasoline has rendered an invigorating effect on the Russian fuel market and help tame prices. The statement was made by Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) Anatoly Golomolzin at a press conference in Moscow. The official said that Belarus shipped as much as 630,000 tonnes of gasoline to Russia in 2013 in line with existing intergovernmental agreements. Anatoly Golomolzin said it is a respectable figure. In early 2013 and in May 2013 experts expected seasonal factors to inflate gasoline prices, however, it did not happen partially thanks to Belarusian gasoline.
Anatoly Golomolzin said that the Federal Antimonopoly Service is in favor of Belarusian gasoline being sold via commodity exchange and was holding relevant consultations. He specified that the bulk of the Belarusian gasoline was sold via commodity exchange in the first four or five months of the year. Sales have been shifting off the exchange for the last two months.
