The Transport and Communications Ministry has set tariffs on passage along toll roads in Belarus. The tariffs are laid down by the Ministry’s resolution No. 21 of 17 June 2013 and were published by the legal information website law.by on 30 July.
The tariff on passage of cars will be þ0.04 per 1km, vehicles with the admissible total weight of over 3.5 tonnes and two axles – þ0.08 per 1km, with three axles – þ0.10 per 1km, four axles and more – þ0.12 per 1km.
Apart from that, the Transport and Communications Ministry has issued a resolution to institute the minimal prepayment and the maximum prepayment balance for contracts for using Belarusian toll roads in prepaid mode.
The Belarusian digital road toll collection system BelToll goes commercial on 1 August 2013. The system is built around specialized short-range radio communication that will allow making transactions without having to stop users. Belarus will have a total of 815km of toll roads. Vehicles registered in the Customs Union member states (Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan) with the admissible total weight of 3.5 tonnes and less will be exempt from road toll.
