EEC approves recommendations for national consumer protection programs

 

The Eurasian Economic Commission approved the methodological recommendations for national consumer protection programs for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, BelTA has learned from the EEC press service.“The EAEU countries are proposed to provide measures that will ensure equality in the resolution of cross-border consumer disputes, exclude unfair business practices, guarantee access to high-quality and safe goods with the provision of full and reliable information,” the EEC said. “These measures should take into account the specifics of consumer protection rights of socially vulnerable groups, facilitate the principles of rational consumption and promote the activities of consumer associations."The document has been prepared in order to implement the strategy of Eurasian economic integration until 2025. It identifies the development algorithm, structure, goals and objectives of national consumer protection programs, target indicators and performance indicators.
