Sabalenka moves up to 7th in WTA rankings

       Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka has risen to her career highest 7^th spot in the WTA rankings, BelTA has learned. In early 2021, ahead of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Women's Tennis Open, Aryna Sabalenka was 10^th and, after winning it, moved up three spots with a total of 4,580 points. Earlier, she won three tournament in a row, extending her match winning streak to 15. Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus is currently 13^th with 3,426 points. Aliaksandra Sasnovich sits 90^th with 838 points. Egor Gerasimov goes 78th (840 points) in the ATP rankings. Ilya Ivashka is 109^th with 681 points, Uladzimir Ignatik is 331^st with 132 points. The world’s leading tennis players are currently gearing up for the first Grand Slam tournament, Australian Open which is due in Melbourne on 8-21 February.
