CIS plenipotentiary representatives to discuss humanitarian ties in Minsk

        A session of the Council of the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States at the Charter and Other Bodies will be held at the CIS Executive Committee on 23 July. Members of the Council will discuss the CIS concept of the action plan in the field of humanitarian cooperation.
The priority areas are the development of a common educational, scientific, information and cultural space along with healthcare, sport and tourism. During the implementation of the CIS concept a number of important agreements were adopted, including an agreement on joint efforts to combat the circulation of fake medicines and an agreement aimed to deal with increasing cases of diabetes. Some documents were approved, including documents on the mutual recognition of diplomas of higher education and documents in the field of culture, physical education, sport and demographic policy. The discussion of the draft agreement on equal rights for all CIS member states’ citizens to study at the CIS educational institutions is nearing completion. According to the press service of the Executive Committee, the year 2014 may be declared the Year of Tourism in the CIS. The CIS Tourism Council has already got down to drafting a set of actions dedicated to the theme of the forthcoming year.
