The Healthcare Ministry expects to reach the plateau for coronavirus in December 2020 - January 2021, Aleksandr Tarasenko, Deputy Healthcare Minister – Chief Sanitary Inspector of the Republic of Belarus, said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel on 15 November, BelTA has learned. “In general, we hope that COVID-19 cases will hit a plateau in December, even January. But given that the epidemic season for influenza is predicted for January-February, we expect more cases of acute respiratory infections with influenza. You know, this can be even February, taking into account these infections,” he said.

According to him, a gradual decrease in the COVID-19 incidence is possible "by the spring and even closer to the summer." Although now in certain regions, for example in some districts of Minsk Oblast, the incidence of coronavirus has decreased over the past week.

The situation with COVID-19 is more serious today than in the first wave, but it is under control, Aleksandr Tarasenkop noted.
