Belarus won 12 medals (6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze) in canoe/kayak events in the Kazan rowing center. Belarusian athletes won six medals in the evening (4 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), the same as in the morning.
Belarus’ Marina Litvinchuk won the title in K1 500m (1 min. 57.055 sec).
Alexandra Grishina and Margarita Tyshkevich finished first in K2 500m (1 min. 46.867 sec.). Women's kayak four (Sofia Yurchenko, Nadezhda Popok, Olga Khudenko and Marina Litvinchuk) were victorious in 500m. Dennis Zhygadlo and Vitaly Belko sailed to another gold in K2 500m, with the time of 1 min. 34.923 sec.
Belarusian men's crew of Pavel Medvedev, Denis Zhygadlo, Artur Litvinchuk, Vitaly Belko picked up silver in K500m. The Belarusians were just 0.173 seconds behind the winning team from Russia.
Olympic champion Andrei Bogdanovich finished in third in the C1 500m with the result of 1 min. 57.496 seconds, 1.910 seconds behind the winner from Lithuania.
All in all, Belarusian canoe/kayak athletes earned 14 medals (6 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze).
