Council of Permanent Representatives of CIS States and the Commission for Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council meet in Minsk

        A joint meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of CIS States and the Commission for Economic Affairs under the CIS Economic Council is held at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk. Taking part in the meeting is chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev. Commission members, led by its chairman Igor Petryshenko, arrived from Moscow to discuss integration processes in the CIS. In particular, the meeting focuses on the formation and development prospects of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. Also, the meeting looks into the draft agenda for the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, scheduled for May 31 in Minsk. The Council is invited to review more than 20 documents on cooperation in trade, innovation, environmental protection, coordination of international relations in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It is also planned to identify measures to further strengthen the stability and security and deepen cooperation in education, physical education, improvement of the activities of sectoral cooperation.
