Belarus, Finland discuss investment projects

         Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania and Finland Vladimir Drazhin visited Finland’s central region to discuss a possibility to implement investment projects in Belarus. Drazhin met with top executives of Olvi, Ponsse, Vapo and owner of the Vepsalainen furniture company and a network of furniture stores Timo Vepsalainen. The parties discussed ways to forge and expand ties between economic entities of the two countries and the agenda of the 4th Finland-Belarus Economic Forum. The Belarusian diplomat informed Finnish businessmen about the financing of upgrade projects of Belarus’ wood processing companies and furniture makers that export their products to Scandinavia. Vladimir Drazhin met with Kuopio Mayor Petteri Paronen to discuss interregional cooperation in construction and agriculture, promotion of Belarusian goods on the Finnish market and ways to intensify cooperation in economy and humanitarian field. The parties also considered cooperation between the High-Tech Park and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus and Kuopio Science Park and Kuopio Innovation Ltd.
