MTS, beCloud discussing LTE development in Belarus

       The Belarusian mobile carrier SOOO MTS and SOOO Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud) are discussing prospects of cooperation in developing the LTE technology. The information was released by MTS Director General Mr Vladimir Karpovich.BeCloud company intends to launch an LTE network in Belarus. “We are discussing possible avenues of cooperation in LTE with the company,” said Vladimir Karpovich.
In his words, the LTE technology will be in demand on the Belarusian market. At present fourth-generation communication networks are already operational in some cities of Russia, including Moscow and Kazan, and are popular among subscribers.
Asked about the possible merger of Belarusian Internet service providers, Vladimir Karpovich said that SOOO MTS was not holding such negotiations and had no plans to buy Belarusian wired Internet access service providers for now.
