Belarus attends climate consultations in Warsaw

       Belarusian experts took part in the discussion of a new comprehensive climate agreement which will take into account the interests of all East European countries in Warsaw. The topic was on the agenda of the informal consultations of climate experts of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.
Belarus’ delegation comprised representatives of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of Belarus in Poland.
The meeting focused on cooperation under the aegis of the upcoming chairmanship of Poland at the 19th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 9th session of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
       Belarusian experts expressed their opinion about the results of the 18th UNFCCC conference in Doha and the 8th session of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol and outlined steps taken in Belarus to determine whether it makes sense to ratify the amendment passed at the meeting in Doha.
