Consultations between the Belarusian and Lithuanian foreign ministries at the level of department heads took place in Minsk.
The consultations focused on the Eastern Partnership Initiative, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told media.
The Belarusian side was represented by Mr Roman Romanovsky, Head of the Office for Pan-European Cooperation of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, while the Lithuanian side was represented by Mr Edminas Bagdonas, Director of the Eastern Neighborhood Policy Department of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, and Ambassador at Large Mr Vaidotas Verba. The Lithuanian delegation was welcomed by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Ms Yelena Kupchina.
During the consultations the sides discussed the development of the Eastern Partnership Initiative of the European Union and the EU member states, including preparations for the EPI’s Vilnius summit in November 2013 taking into account Lithuania’s future presidency in the European Union.
