Belarus attending OSCE High-Level Military Doctrine Seminar in Vienna

Belarus is attending the OSCE High-Level Military Doctrine Seminar in Vienna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria, Belarus’ permanent representative in the OSCE Valery Voronetsky, said.

The Belarusian delegation has also comprised Deputy Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko, representatives of the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Belarus’ permanent delegation in the OSCE. Attending the event are representatives of the Defense Ministries and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the OSCE member states, other government security and defense institutions, as well as regional security organizations and experts.

The seminar discusses the issues such the assessment of major present security risks; changing forms of conflict; the analysis of the military, technical, economic and environmental factors and the impact on the security policy. The participants of the meeting also review current national military doctrines, implications of doctrinal changes for armed forces and security and defense policy including arms control and confidence and security-building measures. Besides, the focus will be on future challenges and areas of activity for the OSCE.
