Max Mirnyi out of Barcelona Open

Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Spain’s Feliciano Lopez failed to reach the doubles semifinal at the Barcelona Open. In the quarterfinal the Belarusian-Spanish tandem lost to the international duet of Jamie Murray of the UK and John Peers of Australia 4-6, 7-5, 8-10. In the opener Mirnyi and Lopez fought through the Polish-Serbian duo of Marcin Matkowski and Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 6-7 (6-8), 10-7.

This season Max Mirnyi and Feliciano Lopez reached the Australian Open quarterfinal in Melbourne and played just one match in Miami.

During his long professional career Max Mirnyi won 48 ATP doubles tournaments teaming up with different tennis players. His recent success (with Horia Tecau) was the victory at the tournament in Beijing in 2013.
