Mansurov: EEU will build common electricity market in three stages

 
         The development of the common electricity market of the Eurasian Economic Union will be completed in three stages, BelTA quotes Tair Mansurov, Member for Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission. A program of the EEU common electricity market development will be made at the first stage which will last until 1 July 2016. At the second stage designed to run 2016-2018, the EEU member states will perform the activities to enable the functioning of the market. And, finally, the international treaty on the EEU common energy market will come into force in 2019.
        According to the minister, the common electricity market will help the EEU member states make the generating and transmission capacities more efficient, bolster mutual and external trade in electricity, increase the utilization of electricity generating facilities as well as the power transmission capacity of interstate transmission lines. This will result in lower costs for electricity and lower energy intensity of GDP of the EEU member states.
