Belarus’ Customs Committee, IOM ready to continue cooperation

       The State Customs Committee of Belarus and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) are determined to continue cooperation. The statement was made at the meeting between Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Sergei Borisyuk and Regional Director of IOM for Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries Renata Held, the press service of the State Customs Committee reports. The participants discussed the implementation of the international project, Assistance in developing an electronic system of pre-arrival information exchange between the customs authorities of Belarus and Ukraine (PRINEX). The major goal of the project is to simplify the safe movement of goods and transport vehicles across the borders of the states as well as along the Pan-European transport corridors and the transport corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia.
The information exchange includes information on goods and transport vehicles, including empty, moved as part of the sales turnover through the border of Belarus and Ukraine by the automobile and rail transport.
