Lukashenko: Russia’s import ban violates all agreements in the Customs Union

By banning the import of Belarusian products Russia has violated all the agreements in the Customs Union. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement at the government conference held to discuss the measures taken to remove the prohibition on the import of Belarusian products to the Russian Federation and the transit of sanctioned goods.
“I wonder why Russia has violated all the agreements we have reached within the framework of the Customs Union. Yes, it can be explained by some security considerations, terrorism and so on. All things like that can be contrived and labeled,” noted the President. He added that Belarusian products enjoy good recognition and sell well in other countries.
“Belarus gets much more contraband goods from its partners in the Customs Union, goods originating from Turkey, China, not necessarily foods because those foods cannot compete in Belarus. Non-foods are abundant! And we have never complained about it to the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan,” stressed the President.
