Lukashenko, Berdimuhamedov launch construction of new Turkmenistan Embassy in Minsk


       President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid a time capsule with a message to descendents at the foundation of Turkmenistan’s Embassy in Minsk, BelTA reports.
      On the eve of the event the two heads of state held talks, following which Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus and Turkmenistan have prerequisites for bolstering and expanding the entire range of cooperation. The Belarus President remarked that there are no problems in Belarus-Turkmenistan relations as far as politics is concerned. He said that the two countries practice similar approaches to a broad spectrum of international and regional matters. According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is ready to continue taking an active part in large-scale projects for economy modernization, which are in progress in Turkmenistan. There are concrete advances in the area of science and technologies and a mutual interest in the development of cooperation in the area of transport. The Belarusian head of state also pointed out that over the last five years Belarus-Turkmenistan trade has increased by more than four times to beat a record high of $400 million in 2013.
